Jessica “Mac” McWhorter
Corps Leader
Jessica “Mac” McWhorter is a disabled United States Marine Corps Veteran whose service reflects leadership, resilience, and a lifelong commitment to those who serve.
During her enlistment, Mac served as a Motor Transport Operator and completed two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). She held leadership roles as a line Non-Commissioned Officer and platoon leader, earning commendations for her performance and dedication in demanding operational environments.
Following her military service, Mac continued serving on the front lines of public safety and healthcare. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) before advancing into healthcare security leadership, ultimately serving as Director of Security at a major hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was responsible for safety operations in a complex, high-risk medical environment.
Today, Mac remains deeply engaged in Veteran and community advocacy. She supports multiple Veteran-focused organizations, including service as a Board Member and retreat facilitator with A Soldier’s Heart, involvement with Bluegrass & Muddy Waters, and as a Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs (KDVA) Women’s Program Ambassador. She also serves as Trustee and Sergeant-at-Arms for VFW Post 269, contributing to organizational governance and Veteran outreach at the local level.
At Green Star Families of America, Mac brings a perspective grounded in combat service, leadership, healthcare operations, and peer-to-peer Veteran support, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to honoring Families of Veterans lost to suicide and strengthening the Veteran community through credible, service-driven leadership.
